Dane County Fair

A few weeks ago, Casey, Brooks, Brody, Emery, Addison, and I traveled out to the Dane County Fair to see the animals.  We went early as it was set to be another hot summer day. 

Emery seemed to love seeing all the animals and many at her eye level in the stroller.  She pet quite a few and laughed at some when they were making noises.  Overall it was a fun trip with the cousins, although Brody wouldn't leave the stroller for much.

10 Months and getting smarter!

Our little girl is now over 10 months and I have begun to think of planning her first birthday party.  I am in denial that it is coming up as fast as it really is.

She has learned how to go from laying down on her belly or back and get to a sitting position.  I was quite surprised, when I woke up to this one morning.

I know it is hard to see, but it is a picture of our video monitor, as I couldn't believe my eyes.

Then she started doing it all the time in her crib, and she couldn't quite figure out how to lay back down, so she would then do this...

This is hard to see as well, but she is flopped over with her arms back and her head on the mattress between her feet.  Her head is towards the slats (left) side of the crib you can see. 

She has been rolling all over the place to get what she wants, and slowly starting to scoot in her own way.  She always wants to stand if you put her next to something, or hold onto your fingers. 

 Will she be walking by one?

Nehmer Family Fun

Two weekends ago we celebrated cousin Ryan's return home from his tour of duty and his 30th birthday.  It was a fun time, and here are a few pics to share.

This past weekend we had a Nehmer/Madsen reunion in Waterloo.  Despite being a little turned around (and I was even following my father, who always knows where he is going), we made it there.  It was another hot summer day, but in the shade was manageable.

We were also made aware of our close neighbors being my second cousin. Small world!

With the weather being so hot lately, and being trapped inside with the kiddos we tried to have some fun anyways.  Here are a few photos from the past weeks.

More Lake Fun

When the sun is shining, we are usually out on the boat!

Emery has loved every minute of the boat, water, and our summer fun traditions.  She will even take naps on the boat! :)

With how hot it has been we haven't been up there as much, but when we are we find shade for Emery so she can join in on the party!

Where's Emery?

Emery loves throwing the blanket over her head and then pulling it back off.  She can always make me laugh at her silly antics lately.
